Balnéa Loudenvielle

Balnéa abrió sus puertas a la entrada de Loudenvielle, en el valle del Louron, bajo las pistas de esquí de Peyragudes y Val Louron, y se presenta como el primer complejo de relajación en agua termal construido en el Pirineo francés. En lugar de un único manantial, el complejo capta agua sulfurosa rica en sodio de tres pozos —Les Coustats, a 162 metros; Cazalis, a 700 metros; y Saoussas, a 652 metros—, perforados cerca de la antigua captación del histórico manantial de los Bains de Saoussas, que dio al valle su tradición termal. Entre Les Coustats y Saoussas por sí solos suministran alrededor de 432 metros cúbicos diarios de agua naturalmente caliente, a 31-35°C, que llenan entre 4.000 y 5.000 metros cuadrados de piscinas sin ningún tipo de calentamiento artificial. El lugar también ha sido reconocido por sus prácticas de desarrollo sostenible en un valle cuya economía depende, por lo demás, en gran medida del esquí invernal.

Balnéa opened at the entrance to Loudenvielle, in the Louron valley beneath the Peyragudes and Val Louron ski slopes, describing itself as the first thermal-water relaxation complex built in the French Pyrenees. Rather than a single spring, the complex draws sulphurous, sodium-rich water from three boreholes — Les Coustats at 162 metres, Cazalis at 700 metres, and Saoussas at 652 metres — sunk near the old captage of the historic Bains de Saoussas spring that gave the valley its thermal tradition. Between them, Les Coustats and Saoussas alone supply around 432 cubic metres of naturally warm water a day, at 31-35°C, filling roughly 4,000 to 5,000 square metres of pools without any artificial heating. The site has also been recognised for its sustainable-development practices in a valley whose economy otherwise depends heavily on winter skiing.
