Les Bains de Saint-Thomas

En el valle del río Têt, en los Pirineos Orientales franceses, en el municipio de Fontpédrouse, los Bains de Saint-Thomas se nutren de seis manantiales termales sulfurosos naturales que alcanzan los 58°C, lo que clasifica el lugar como hipertermal y lo sitúa entre las fuentes de agua natural más calientes de todo el Pirineo. Los baños se encuentran junto a la RN116, la carretera histórica que discurre paralela al Têt y a la vía estrecha del Train Jaune (Tren Amarillo), que asciende hacia la Cerdaña. Una renovación en 1993 revitalizó el lugar tras un periodo de declive, y desde entonces se ha convertido en un motor importante para la economía rural de este pequeño municipio de montaña, popular tanto entre quienes buscan curas termales como entre los viajeros de la ruta del Train Jaune.

In the Têt river valley of the Pyrénées-Orientales, in the commune of Fontpédrouse, the Bains de Saint-Thomas draw on six natural sulphurous hot springs that reach a striking 58°C, classifying the site as hyperthermal and placing it among the hottest natural water sources anywhere in the Pyrenees. The baths sit alongside the RN116, the historic road running parallel to the Têt and to the narrow-gauge Train Jaune (Yellow Train) line that climbs toward Cerdagne. A renovation in 1993 revived the site after a period of decline, and it has since become an important draw for the rural economy of this small mountain commune, popular with both cure-seekers and travellers on the Train Jaune route.

フランス領ピレネー・オリアンタル県、テ川の渓谷にあるフォンペドルーズ村では、バン・ド・サン=トマが6つの天然硫黄温泉から湯を引いており、その温度は58℃という驚くべき高さに達する。これによりこの施設は「ハイパーサーマル(高温泉)」に分類され、ピレネー山脈全域でも屈指の高温天然水源の一つとなっている。浴場は、テ川に沿って走る歴史的な国道RN116、そしてセルダーニュ方面へ登っていく狭軌鉄道「黄色い列車(トラン・ジョーヌ)」の線路のすぐそばに位置する。1993年の改修により、衰退期を経ていたこの施設は復活を遂げ、以来この小さな山間の村の地域経済にとって重要な存在となり、湯治客とトラン・ジョーヌ沿線の旅行者の双方に人気を集めている。
