Blue Hole Regional Park is centered on a spring-fed section of Cypress Creek in Wimberley, where cold artesian water at around 21°C emerges from the Edwards Plateau limestone to form a wide, deep, intensely blue-green swimming hole. Ancient cypress trees line the banks and their roots trail into the water, providing shade and atmosphere. The park operates a reservation system during peak summer months to control capacity. The Blue Hole is one of the most celebrated natural swimming spots in the Texas Hill Country.
