The spring produces water at around 45°C in the broad flatlands of the Humboldt Sink, a region where scattered hot springs have supported travelers along the old emigrant trails for centuries. The High Rock Country springs of northern Nevada are among the West's most varied geothermal environments, and this modest spring sits within that broader volcanic region.
