Langford Hot Springs

Langford Hot Springs, nombrado en honor a J.O. Langford quien construyó un balneario aquí en 1909 para tratar la malaria de su familia, se encuentra a orillas del Río Bravo al pie de las Montañas Chisos en el Parque Nacional Big Bend. Langford Hot Springs — named for J.O. Langford who built a bathhouse here in 1909 to treat his family's malaria — sits along the Rio Grande at the base of the Chisos Mountains in Big Bend National Park. Natural springs discharge at around 43°C from travertine rock directly at the river's edge, creating pools where the thermal water mixes with the cool river. A 1.5-kilometre round-trip walk from the parking area leads to the springs past the ruins of Langford's original resort. The setting at the US-Mexico boundary in one of North America's most remote national parks is unrivaled.
