Mist Mountain Hot Springs in Kananaskis Country, Alberta, require an 8-kilometre round-trip hike from the Mist Creek trailhead in the Highwood River valley. The springs produce water at around 38°C that has formed a series of natural soaking pools in the subalpine meadows at the base of Mist Mountain. The hike passes through spruce and fir forest before emerging into open meadows with excellent views of the southern Rockies. The springs are seasonal — typically accessible from June through October when the approach trail is free of snow.
