Ardent Hot Spring

Ardent Hot Spring se encuentra a unos 200 metros de altitud, al pie del volcán Hibok-Hibok, a unos 6 km al suroeste de Mambajao, en la isla de Camiguin. El agua sulfurosa y rica en minerales fluye a través de una serie de piscinas escalonadas rodeadas de selva, con temperaturas generalmente entre 33°C y 40°C, alimentada por la actividad geotérmica del volcán, todavía activo, que se alza sobre ella. El gobierno municipal de Mambajao gestiona la instalación desde 1999; un terremoto posterior desvió el canal subterráneo de la fuente, haciendo que la piscina más caliente pasara de la parte superior de la cascada a la inferior. Sigue siendo una de las principales atracciones de Camiguin, junto con White Island, y cuenta con una pequeña cafetería y alojamiento básico en el lugar.

Ardent Hot Spring sits at roughly 200 meters elevation at the base of Hibok-Hibok Volcano, about 6 km southwest of Mambajao on Camiguin Island. Sulphurous, mineral-rich water flows through a series of tiered, jungle-fringed pools with temperatures generally between 33°C and 40°C, and is fed by geothermal activity from the still-active volcano above. The municipal government of Mambajao has operated the facility since 1999; a subsequent earthquake shifted the underground spring channel, causing the hottest pool to move from the top of the cascade to the bottom. It remains one of Camiguin's signature attractions alongside White Island, with a small café and basic overnight accommodation on site.
