Bela-Bela — meaning 'the pot that boils on its own' in Setswana — is a thermal resort town in the Waterberg District of Limpopo Province, South Africa, built around a natural hot spring that emerges at approximately 52°C from a fractured dolomite aquifer. The Tswana people called the spring 'mmamogashoa' and used it for centuries before the first Voortrekker settlers encountered it in the 1830s, naming the settlement Warmbaths. The town was officially renamed Bela-Bela in 2001 as part of South Africa's post-apartheid geographical reconciliation programme. The thermal complex — one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere — features dozens of indoor and outdoor pools at various temperatures, water park facilities, and a full spa resort.
