Elbasan Thermal Springs (Qendër Llixhë)

Qendër Llixhë -cuyo nombre significa literalmente "los baños" en albanés- es un pequeño pueblo a unos 12 km de Elbasan, al pie del monte Banja, construido en torno a un agua termal procedente de la misma franja geotérmica que alimenta los manantiales más silvestres de Hidraj, a unos 1,5 km de distancia. El lugar se ha usado para el baño desde época romana, y hoy un puñado de hoteles modestos, entre ellos Hotel Miza y Onix Spa, ofrecen piscinas minerales sulfurosas cubiertas, tratamientos de barro, fisioterapia y masajes bajo consulta médica, atrayendo a visitantes que buscan alivio para el reumatismo y afecciones de la piel. A diferencia de las piscinas fluviales sin desarrollar de Hidraj, Llixhë funciona como un pequeño destino termal organizado con alojamiento básico, aunque sigue siendo modesto en comparación con los grandes complejos termales de Albania.

Qendër Llixhë - its name literally means "the baths" in Albanian - is a small village roughly 12 km from Elbasan at the base of Banja mountain, built around thermal water drawn from the same broader geothermal belt that feeds the wilder Hidraj springs about 1.5 km away. The site has been used for bathing since Roman times, and today a handful of modest hotels, including Hotel Miza and Onix Spa, offer indoor sulphurous mineral pools, mud treatments, physiotherapy, and massage under medical consultation, drawing visitors seeking relief from rheumatism and skin conditions. Unlike Hidraj's undeveloped riverside pools, Llixhë functions as a small organised spa destination with basic accommodation, though it remains modest in scale compared to Albania's larger thermal complexes.
