Fuentes Georginas

Las Fuentes Georginas son manantiales termales volcánicos naturales ocultos en un denso bosque nuboso sobre la ciudad de Quetzaltenango (Xela), segunda ciudad de Guatemala, a 2.600 metros de altitud en el altiplano occidental. Los manantiales son alimentados por el sistema geotérmico del volcán Siete Orejas y emergen entre capas de helechos tropicales, bromelias y musgo colgante, formando piscinas a temperaturas de entre 40 y 50 °C. La experiencia de llegar al sitio a través de una sinuosa carretera de montaña y emerger a un claro de bosque nuboso donde el vapor asciende entre los árboles es una de las llegadas termales más atmosféricas de Centroamérica.

Fuentes Georginas are natural volcanic hot springs concealed in dense cloud forest above the city of Quetzaltenango (Xela), Guatemala's second city, at an altitude of 2,600 metres in the western highlands. The springs are fed by the geothermal system of the Siete Orejas (Seven Ears) volcano, an extinct stratovolcano whose hydrothermal activity continues despite the absence of recent eruptions. The springs emerge steaming through layers of tropical fern, bromeliad, and hanging moss, pooling in a series of natural stone-edged basins at temperatures of approximately 40–50°C. The site was formally developed in the 1940s during the presidency of Federico Ponce Vaides and named after María Georgina García — hence 'Georginas', not to be confused with Georgia the country. The experience of arriving at the site through winding mountain road, emerging into a cloud-forest clearing where steam rises between the trees, is one of the most atmospheric thermal arrivals in Central America.

Fuentes Georginasはグアテマラ・Quetzaltenango (Xela)に位置する温熱泉。源泉温度は45℃、標高2600mの地に湧出する。泉水は中性に近い（pH約6.7）の泉質、炭酸水素塩泉・硫酸塩泉を豊富に含む、総溶解固形物480 mg/Lが特徴だ。リラクゼーション・呼吸器療法・筋肉の回復など多様な温浴療法が行われる。施設では入浴・蒸気浴・渓流の水風呂などが体験できる。
