Gaviota Hot Springs is reached by a 1.5-mile trail climbing through coastal chaparral in Gaviota State Park, north of Santa Barbara. The spring produces water at around 35°C that seeps into a concrete-lined pool at the top of the trail. The ocean is visible from higher on the trail, and the spring itself is surrounded by oaks and sycamores. The combination of Pacific Coast scenery, moderate hiking, and a warm natural pool makes this one of the most appealing day-trip springs in Southern California.
