Hofsos Swimming Pool

La piscina de Hofsós abrió en 2010, diseñada por Basalt Architects (Sigríður Sigþórsdóttir) tras una donación privada al municipio. Calentada por un suministro de agua geotérmica local, la piscina de 25 x 10.5 m se mantiene alrededor de 30-31°C con profundidades de 0.8-1.8 m, mientras que un jacuzzi contiguo funciona a 38-39°C. Su borde de estilo infinito crea la impresión de fundirse con las aguas frías del fiordo, con vistas a las formaciones basálticas cercanas de Staðarbjargavík.

The Hofsós swimming pool opened in 2010, designed by Basalt Architects (Sigríður Sigþórsdóttir) following a private donation to the municipality. Heated by a local geothermal water supply, the 25 x 10.5 m pool sits at around 30-31°C with depths of 0.8-1.8 m, while an adjoining hot tub runs at 38-39°C. Its infinity-style edge creates the impression of merging with the cold waters of the fjord, with views toward the nearby basalt formations at Staðarbjargavík.
