Istarske Toplice

Istarske Toplice se encuentra en la aldea de Gradinje, en el cañón excavado por el río Mirna, unos 11 km al suroeste de Buzet, en el centro de Istria. El agua termal, de composición sódico-cálcico-clorurado-sulfatada, brota a unos 32–34°C y contiene azufre natural (entre 33 y 38 mg de sulfuro de hidrógeno por kg), junto con radiactividad natural medible, propiedades utilizadas desde hace tiempo para tratamientos antiinflamatorios y de rehabilitación. El antiguo nombre italiano del lugar, Terme Santo Stefano, y la iglesia en ruinas de San Esteban que aún se alza allí, apuntan a una tradición balnearia que se remonta siglos atrás en esta parte de Istria. Hoy funciona como un complejo de salud, rehabilitación y bienestar que ofrece fisioterapia, baños termales, tratamientos de barro y terapia por inhalación.

Istarske Toplice sits in the village of Gradinje, in the canyon carved by the Mirna river about 11 km southwest of Buzet in central Istria. The thermal water, sodium-calcium-chloride-sulfate in composition, emerges at roughly 32–34°C and carries natural sulphur (around 33–38 mg of hydrogen sulphide per kg) along with measurable natural radioactivity, properties long used for anti-inflammatory and rehabilitative treatments. The site's older Italian name, Terme Santo Stefano, and the ruined church of St. Stephen still standing there point to a bathing tradition going back centuries in this part of Istria. Today it operates as a health, rehabilitation and wellness resort offering physical therapy, thermal bathing, mud treatments and inhalation therapy.
