Pilgrim Hot Springs

Pilgrim Hot Springs es un sitio geotérmico en la Península Seward del oeste de Alaska, accesible solo en avioneta, moto de nieve o ATV según la temporada. Los manantiales crean un microclima extraordinario en la tundra circundante: árboles y vegetación crecen a alturas inusuales para la latitud subártica, formando una anomalía exuberante en el paisaje de permafrost abierto.

Pilgrim Hot Springs is a geothermal site on the Seward Peninsula of western Alaska, accessible only by bush plane, snowmobile, or ATV depending on season. The hot springs — with water emerging at temperatures up to 50°C — create an extraordinary microclimate in the surrounding tundra: trees and vegetation grow to heights unusual for the sub-Arctic latitude, forming a lush anomaly in the otherwise open permafrost landscape. The site was used by indigenous Inupiaq communities for centuries, and in the early 20th century a Catholic mission and orphanage were built here, taking advantage of the springs for heating and the unusual growing conditions for food. The abandoned mission buildings remain on site.

Pilgrim Hot Springsはアメリカ・Seward Peninsula, Alaskaに位置する地熱温泉・硫黄泉。源泉温度は50℃の豊かな温泉水が湧き出る。泉水はアルカリ性（pH約8.4）の泉質、炭酸水素塩泉・ナトリウム泉を豊富に含む、総溶解固形物360 mg/Lが特徴だ。リラクゼーション・大自然など多様な温浴療法が行われる。施設では入浴・浸浴などが体験できる。
