Serpentine Hot Springs

Serpentine Hot Springs es uno de los manantiales calientes más remotos de los Estados Unidos, ubicado en la Preserva Nacional del Puente de Tierra de Bering en la Península Seward del noroeste de Alaska. Los manantiales se descargan a unos 65°C y abastecen una cabaña dormitorio mantenida por la BLM. El paisaje circundante es extraordinario: enormes tors de granito se elevan sobre la tundra.

Serpentine Hot Springs is one of the most remote hot springs in the United States, located in the Bering Land Bridge National Preserve on the Seward Peninsula of northwestern Alaska. The springs discharge at around 65°C and supply a BLM-maintained bunkhouse cabin. The surrounding landscape is extraordinary — enormous granite tors rise above the tundra, and the spring sits in a geothermal oasis where warmth-seeking plants and birds congregate. Access is by small aircraft from Nome, 110 kilometres to the south. In good weather, the views extend toward the Bering Sea and Russia.
