Roc del Metge Spring

El Roc del Metge (también llamado Font del Metge, 'la fuente del médico') es el manantial termal natural cercano a la Plaça dels Safarejos en Escaldes-Engordany que da nombre a la ciudad y explica su razón de ser histórica: se cree que Escaldes-Engordany es una de las zonas pobladas más antiguas de Andorra, con un desarrollo ligado a este manantial. El agua emerge a unos 68°C y se describe como una de las aguas termales más calientes y ricas en sulfatos de Europa. Es la fuente compartida que alimenta las instalaciones termales modernas de la ciudad, incluidas Caldea, Inuu y Piscina Termal Muntanya, y también es accesible directamente mediante una red de unos siete senderos de dificultad variable.

The Roc del Metge (also called Font del Metge, 'the doctor's spring') is the natural thermal spring near Plaça dels Safarejos in Escaldes-Engordany that gives the town its name and its historic reason for being: Escaldes-Engordany is thought to be among the earliest-settled areas of Andorra, its development tied to this spring. The water emerges at roughly 68°C and is described as among the hottest and most sulfate-rich thermal waters in Europe. It is the shared source feeding the town's modern thermal facilities, including Caldea, Inuu and Piscina Termal Muntanya, and is also accessible directly via a network of about seven hiking trails of varying difficulty.
