Takaragawa Onsen

Takaragawa Onsen es una de las experiencias de onsen al aire libre más celebradas de Japón: cuatro grandes baños comunitarios exteriores (rotemburo) construidos directamente en las orillas del río Takara en las montañas de Gunma. El mayor puede acomodar a cientos de bañistas simultáneamente junto a rocas cubiertas de musgo con el sonido de la corriente y el dosel forestal. En invierno, el vapor sobre las piscinas crea un efecto dramático de niebla mientras la nieve cae sobre los cedros.

Takaragawa Onsen is among the most celebrated outdoor onsen experiences in Japan, and by some measures the most dramatically scaled: four large outdoor communal baths (rotemburo) built directly on the banks and within the shallows of the Takara River, in a deep forested gorge in the Minakami area of Gunma Prefecture. The largest bath can accommodate hundreds of bathers simultaneously while feeling intimate, positioned between mossy boulders at the river's edge with the sound of the current and the forest canopy overhead. The water — slightly alkaline, mildly sulphurous, crystal clear — emerges from the earth at 42°C and flows into open-air pools that are used year-round. In winter, the steam above the pools meets cold mountain air to create a dramatic mist effect while snowfall settles on the surrounding cedar and beech forest. The approach to Takaragawa involves a narrow mountain road through the Akiyama gorge area, and the journey itself is part of the experience: Gunma's mountain interior is one of the most intact traditional rural landscapes in the Kanto hinterland. The Oku-Takaragawa Onsen Osenkaku inn maintains the baths and offers traditional kaiseki ryokan accommodation.

Takaragawa Onsenは日本・Minakami, Gunma Prefectureに位置する温泉・硫黄泉。源泉温度は42℃、標高680mの地に湧出する。泉水は中性に近い（pH約7.2）の泉質、炭酸水素塩泉・ナトリウム泉を豊富に含む、総溶解固形物820 mg/Lが特徴だ。1936年創業。皮膚科治療・リウマチ療法・リラクゼーションなど多様な温浴療法が行われる。施設では露天風呂（川沿い）・混浴・男女別浴・会席料理付き旅館滞在などが体験できる。
