Thermen Bad Nieuweschans

Thermen Bad Nieuweschans es un balneario termal en el pueblo de Bad Nieuweschans, provincia de Groninga, cerca de la frontera con Alemania. Su salmuera rica en minerales se descubrió durante perforaciones exploratorias, y el complejo —originalmente llamado Fontana— abrió en 1985 para aprovechar el hallazgo. El agua se extrae de un acuífero salino natural a una profundidad de entre 600 y 663 metros y contiene altas concentraciones de sal, magnesio, yodo y bromuro. El complejo ofrece piscinas a distintas temperaturas, incluyendo un baño interior de unos 32°C, un 'baño de parque' exterior de unos 34°C que usa el agua mineral directamente de su propia fuente, y un baño termal específico de unos 36°C. El balneario recibe aproximadamente 200.000 visitantes al año y sigue siendo uno de los pocos destinos de baños de agua salina en el norte de los Países Bajos.

Thermen Bad Nieuweschans is a thermal spa in the village of Bad Nieuweschans, Groningen province, close to the German border. Its mineral-rich brine was discovered during exploratory drilling and the resort — originally named Fontana — opened in 1985 to make use of the find. The water is drawn from a natural saline aquifer at a depth of roughly 600-663 metres and contains high concentrations of salt, magnesium, iodine and bromide. The complex offers pools at a range of temperatures, including an indoor bath around 32°C, an outdoor 'park bath' around 34°C using the mineral water directly from its own source, and a dedicated thermal bath around 36°C. The resort draws roughly 200,000 visitors a year and remains one of the few brine-spa destinations in the northern Netherlands.
