Yuseong Hot Springs

Yuseong Hot Springs es un distrito termal de larga tradición en Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, donde el agua brota desde 215 a 450 metros de profundidad a temperaturas de entre 41°C y 57°C, con un pH ligeramente alcalino de entre 7,5 y 8,5 y un alto contenido de silicatos apreciado por suavizar la piel. Los registros históricos describen al rey Taejo explorando la zona en busca de una nueva capital, y al rey Taejong de la dinastía Joseon bañándose allí en 1393; el desarrollo moderno comenzó después de 1913, durante el período colonial japonés, cuando se construyeron varias casas de baños. Hoy el distrito se centra en un Centro de Baño de Pies público y gratuito (inaugurado en 2007), decorado con fuentes, arroyos y una noria, y acoge cada mayo el Festival Cultural de los Manantiales Termales de Yuseong.

Yuseong Hot Springs is a long-established thermal district in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, where water rises from 215–450 meters underground at temperatures ranging from about 41°C to 57°C, with a mildly alkaline pH between 7.5 and 8.5 and a high silicate content prized for softening skin. Historical records describe King Taejo surveying the area while searching for a new capital, and King Taejong of Joseon bathing there in 1393; modern development began after 1913 during the Japanese colonial period, when several bathhouses were built. Today the district centers on a free public Foot Bath Experience Center (opened 2007), decorated with fountains, streams, and a water wheel, and hosts an annual Yuseong Hot Springs Cultural Festival each May.

儒城温泉（ユソンオンチョン）は大田広域市儒城区にある古くからの温泉街で、地下215〜450メートルから約41〜57℃の湯が湧き出し、pHは7.5〜8.5の弱アルカリ性、肌を柔らかくするとされる高濃度のケイ酸を含む。歴史記録によれば、太祖王が新都を探す際にこの地を訪れ、朝鮮の太宗王も1393年にここで入浴したと伝えられる。近代的な開発は1913年、日本統治時代に複数の浴場が建設されたことから始まった。現在は2007年に開設された無料の足湯体験センターを中心に、噴水や小川、水車が配された公園として整備されており、毎年5月には儒城温泉文化祭が開催される。
