Hot Creek Geologic Site

Hot Creek Geologic Site es un impresionante elemento geológico en la Caldera del Valle Long donde el agua geotérmica sobrecalentada a hasta 80°C brota del suelo y las orillas de Hot Creek, un frío arroyo de truchas. Hot Creek Geologic Site is a striking geological feature in the Long Valley Caldera where superheated geothermal water at up to 80°C erupts from the floor and banks of Hot Creek, a cold trout stream. The visual contrast of boiling vents and clear cold water, surrounded by volcanic mountains, makes Hot Creek a dramatic natural spectacle. Swimming was historically popular here but has been prohibited since 2006 due to the unpredictable nature of the hydrothermal activity and scalding water temperatures. The site remains fully accessible for viewing.
