Lječilište Topusko sits in the Sisak-Moslavina hills of central Croatia, drawing on thermal water of volcanic origin that rises from roughly 1,500 metres underground through three main springs and several smaller ones, reaching around 68°C (with some measurements up to 80°C) at the source before being tempered to bathing temperatures of 27–34°C. The water carries silicic acid, dissolved carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide, along with measurable natural radioactivity from radon and radium, giving it recognized therapeutic value for musculoskeletal, neurological, gynaecological and dermatological conditions. Romans built a station here they called Ad Fines, and medieval chronicles record Topusko flourishing as a bathing place as early as 1192 under King Andrew II of Hungary-Croatia. Today the spa operates as a public rehabilitation hospital and health resort, with parkland and bathing facilities built up through the 19th and 20th centuries.

Patrimonio
Heritage
Romans established a waystation called Ad Fines at the site, and medieval sources record Topusko as a functioning bathing resort by 1192, under King Andrew II. Extensive 19th-century balneological study helped establish its reputation, with local sources citing it among the top thermal waters in Europe by quality.
