Rabbitkettle Hot Springs is a geological wonder within Nahanni National Park Reserve in Canada's Northwest Territories, part of the South Nahanni River UNESCO World Heritage Site. The springs produce cool (20°C) but mineral-rich water that has deposited layered tufa mounds over thousands of years, creating the largest known tufa mounds in Canada and among the largest in North America. The springs can only be reached by floatplane or a multi-day canoe journey down the South Nahanni River — one of the world's premier wilderness river experiences. Parks Canada strictly controls visitation to protect the fragile tufa formations.
