Santa Teresita Hotel y Spa Termal is located near Lake Amatitlán south of Guatemala City, an area with active volcanic geothermal springs fed by the Pacaya and Amatitlán volcanic complex. The hotel channels natural spring water at around 44°C into a full spa and hotel resort setting, making it accessible from the capital as a weekend retreat. The Lake Amatitlán area has a long history of thermal bathing; in the 19th century it was the fashionable spa destination for Guatemala City residents. The town of Amatitlán itself preserves historical architecture from that era.
