Termas de Outariz is one of Ourense's most visited thermal facilities, built along the Miño River in the Galician city long known as 'the city of thermalism' for its abundance of natural hot springs. Geothermal water rises at the source at roughly 60°C (140°F) and feeds fourteen pools arranged into two circuits: a Zen circuit of nine pools inspired by Japanese onsen design, and a Celtic circuit of seven stone-built pools with moving water, plus saunas and treatment areas. The complex draws on Ourense's long tradition of thermal bathing, which stretches back to Roman times in the wider city, and today combines wellness, architecture and riverside scenery on the outskirts of the city center.
Ourense has been known since Roman times for its natural hot springs, and Outariz continues this tradition with a modern facility drawing directly on the city's geothermal waters along the Miño.
