Caldeira Velha

Caldeira Velha es un sitio de manantiales termales naturales escondido en el interior boscoso de la isla de São Miguel, parte del Geoparque de las Azores. El agua sulfurosa cálida a unos 40°C emerge de la roca volcánica y fluye a través de una serie de pozas dominadas por helechos arborescentes y el antiguo bosque de laurisilva atlántica, el bosque de laureles que alguna vez cubrió gran parte de Macaronesia.

Caldeira Velha is a natural thermal spring site tucked into the forest-covered interior of São Miguel island, part of the Azores Geopark. Warm sulphurous water at around 40°C emerges from the volcanic rock and flows through a series of pools overhung with tree ferns and ancient laurisilva forest — the surviving Atlantic laurel forest that once covered much of Macaronesia. The pools' turquoise colour comes from the suspended minerals in the water. The site is a protected natural monument, developed with minimal infrastructure: wooden walkways, a small access road, and admission controls to prevent overcrowding. The combination of warm water, green forest canopy, and the sound of the cascade creates a deeply immersive natural environment.

Caldeira Velhaはポルトガル・São Miguel, Azoresに位置する硫黄泉・地熱温泉。源泉温度は40℃、標高320mの地に湧出する。泉水は中性に近い（pH約6.8）の泉質、炭酸水素塩泉・シリカを豊富に含む、総溶解固形物750 mg/Lが特徴だ。温浴療法・自然体験など多様な温浴療法が行われる。施設では入浴・滝浴びなどが体験できる。
