Hirayu no Mori is a day-bathing facility in Hirayu, said to be the oldest of Okuhida Onsenkyo's hot spring towns, with local legend crediting its discovery to the troops of feudal lord Takeda Shingen in the 1560s. The complex draws water from around two sources at roughly 67°C and offers numerous open-air baths. Hirayu itself served as a resting stop for Hokuriku-region lords traveling during the Edo period.
平湯の森は平湯にある日帰り入浴施設で、平湯は奥飛騨温泉郷の中で最も古い温泉地とされ、1560年代に武田信玄の軍勢が発見したという伝説が残る。施設は約2つの源泉から約67度の湯を引いており、数多くの露天風呂を備える。平湯は江戸時代、北陸の大名たちの休息地としても利用された。

Una leyenda local sostiene que el manantial de Hirayu fue descubierto en la década de 1560 cuando un mono blanco guio a las tropas exhaustas del señor de la guerra Takeda Shingen hasta el agua.
