Manikaran Sahib Hot Springs

Manikaran es uno de los sitios de manantiales termales más sagrados de Asia: un lugar de peregrinaje en el río Parvati donde los manantiales geotérmicos emergen a temperaturas que se acercan a los 100°C. Los manantiales son tan calientes que la comunidad sij los usa para cocinar langar para los peregrinos. Manikaran is one of the most sacred hot spring sites in Asia — a place of pilgrimage on the Parvati River in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh where geothermal springs emerge at temperatures approaching 100°C. The springs are so hot that the Sikh community uses them to cook langar (communal food) for pilgrims — the rice and dhal for the free communal meals served at the Gurudwara Manikaran Sahib are cooked directly in the boiling spring water. The site is holy to both Sikhs, who associate it with Guru Nanak's legendary visit in the 16th century, and Hindus, for whom the Shiva Temple at Manikaran is a site of ancient sanctity. The Parvati Valley setting — surrounded by 5,000-metre Himalayan peaks — adds a dimension of dramatic natural grandeur to the spiritual significance.

Manikaran Sahib Hot Springsはインド・Himachal Pradeshに位置する硫黄泉・炭酸泉。源泉温度は95℃、標高1760mの地に湧出する。泉水は中性に近い（pH約7.3）の泉質、二酸化炭素・ナトリウム泉を豊富に含む、総溶解固形物1950 mg/Lが特徴だ。古くから親しまれてきた。巡礼・入浴・スピリチュアルウェルネスなど多様な温浴療法が行われる。施設では聖なる入浴・温泉での共同調理などが体験できる。
