Papallacta Hot Springs

Papallacta es un complejo de manantiales geotérmicos en la Reserva Ecológica Cayambe-Coca a 3.300 metros de altitud en los Andes orientales de Ecuador, a unos 64 kilómetros al este de Quito. Los manantiales están calentados por el sistema volcánico regional. Las temperaturas en las piscinas de baño oscilan entre 38 y 42 °C, rodeadas de páramo y bosque nuboso. La combinación de altitud y agua termal crea una experiencia fisiológicamente distintiva que los visitantes describen como cualitativamente diferente al baño en altitudes más bajas.

Papallacta is a geothermal spring complex in the Cayambe-Coca Ecological Reserve at 3,300 metres altitude in Ecuador's eastern Andes, about 64 kilometres east of Quito and perched at the edge of the Amazonian cloud forest. The springs are heated by the regional volcanic system — the chain of active volcanoes running through Ecuador's Avenue of the Volcanoes includes Antisana, Cotopaxi, and Pichincha, all within view on clear days. Water temperatures reach 38–42°C in the bathing pools, surrounded by páramo grassland and dense cloud forest. The complex operates a series of outdoor pools of varying temperatures set against a dramatic Andean landscape, along with private enclosed baths and a spa facility. The combination of high altitude and thermal water creates a physiologically distinctive experience: the thin air of the páramo and the warm geothermal springs interact to produce a powerful state of physical relaxation that visitors consistently describe as qualitatively different from lower-altitude bathing. The springs also feed the Quito municipal water supply — an unusual proximity of drinking water source and spa destination.

Papallacta Hot Springsはエクアドル・Napo Province, Eastern Andesに位置する地熱温泉。源泉温度は40℃、標高3300mの地に湧出する。泉水は中性に近い（pH約6.9）の泉質、炭酸水素塩泉・ナトリウム泉を豊富に含む、総溶解固形物560 mg/Lが特徴だ。リラクゼーション・高地順応・皮膚など多様な温浴療法が行われる。施設では高地の屋外入浴・水風呂・スチームルームなどが体験できる。
