Jozankei Onsen

Jozankei Onsen se encuentra en un desfiladero del río Toyohira, dentro del Parque Nacional Shikotsu-Toya, a una hora del centro de Sapporo. Fue descubierto en 1866 por el monje asceta Miizumi Jozan, quien abrió un balneario curativo que dio nombre a la localidad. La zona se nutre de 56 fuentes termales individuales con aguas de cloruro de sodio (sal) que emergen entre 60 y 80°C. Hoy es uno de los mayores complejos termales de Hokkaido, con entre 1.4 y 2.4 millones de visitantes al año repartidos en unos 20 ryokan.

Jozankei Onsen sits in a gorge of the Toyohira River inside Shikotsu-Toya National Park, about an hour from central Sapporo. It was discovered in 1866 by the ascetic monk Miizumi Jozan, who opened a healing spa that gave the town its name. The area draws on 56 individual hot spring sources with sodium chloride (salt) waters that emerge at 60-80°C. Today it is one of Hokkaido's largest hot spring resorts, drawing around 1.4 to 2.4 million visitors a year to its roughly 20 ryokan.

定山渓温泉は支笏洞爺国立公園内、豊平川の渓谷に位置し、札幌中心部から車で約1時間の場所にある。1866年、修行僧の美泉定山によって発見され、彼が開いた湯治場がこの地の名の由来となった。56か所の源泉から湧く塩化物泉（食塩泉）の湯温は60～80℃に達する。現在は北海道有数の大規模温泉地で、約20軒の旅館に年間140万～240万人が訪れる。
