Terme Olimia

Terme Olimia se encuentra al este de Podčetrtek, en el este de Estiria, y extrae su agua de pozos de entre 500 y 520 metros de profundidad que alcanzan temperaturas de hasta los 40°C en la boca del pozo antes de mezclarse para uso en piscinas. Conocidos localmente desde hace tiempo, los manantiales se desarrollaron como balneario formal, inaugurado el 9 de septiembre de 1966 bajo el nombre de Atomske Toplice ('Manantiales Atómicos'), un nombre de época que refleja el entusiasmo de aquellos años por la débil radiactividad natural del agua bicarbonatada cálcico-magnésica, utilizada en la primera piscina terapéutica de madera del balneario. Desde entonces, las instalaciones han crecido hasta convertirse en uno de los mayores complejos termales de Eslovenia, hoy operando como Terme Olimia, con el parque acuático contiguo Aqualuna alimentado por el mismo recurso termal subyacente.

Terme Olimia sits east of Podčetrtek in eastern Styria, drawing its water from wells around 500–520 meters deep that reach temperatures reported up to the low 40s°C at the wellhead before blending for pool use. Long known locally, the springs were developed into a formal spa opened on 9 September 1966 under the name Atomske Toplice ('Atomic Springs') — a period name reflecting the era's enthusiasm for the weak natural radioactivity of the calcium-magnesium bicarbonate water, used in the resort's first wooden therapeutic pool. The facility has since grown into one of Slovenia's largest spa complexes, now trading as Terme Olimia, with the adjoining Aqualuna water park drawing on the same underlying thermal resource.
