Yagen Onsen

Yagen Onsen es un grupo de ryokan situados junto al río Ohata, dentro del Parque Cuasi Nacional de la península de Shimokita, rodeado de bosque antiguo, incluidos los característicos cipreses hiba de Aomori. El lugar está ligado a una leyenda local en la que un kappa (espíritu acuático) habría rescatado y curado a un sacerdote viajero herido en el manantial. Los visitantes también pueden ver los restos de un ferrocarril forestal que operó en el valle hasta 1963.

Yagen Onsen is a cluster of ryokan set along the Ohata River within the Shimokita Hanto Quasi-National Park, surrounded by old-growth forest, including the region's noted Aomori hiba (cypress) trees. The area is tied to a local legend in which a kappa (water spirit) is said to have rescued and healed an injured traveling priest at the spring. Visitors can also see the remains of a forest railway that operated in the valley until 1963.

薬研温泉は大畑川沿いに宿が点在する温泉地で、下北半島国定公園内にあり、青森ヒバをはじめとする原生林に囲まれている。旅の途中で傷ついた僧侶をカッパが助けて癒したという地元の伝説が残る。1963年まで運行していた森林鉄道の跡も見ることができる。
