Château des Thermes

El Château des Thermes se encuentra en un valle boscoso a orillas del río Vesdre en Chaudfontaine, provincia de Lieja, y se nutre del manantial 'Astrid' —el único manantial natural genuinamente caliente de Bélgica y la región del Benelux—. El agua se infiltra a través del suelo rocoso y calcáreo, casi impenetrable, de las Ardenas, tardando más de 60 años en descender hasta unos 1.600 metros, donde alcanza unos 55°C antes de volver a ascender a la superficie a unos 37°C, ganando minerales bicarbonatados en el camino mediante filtración natural. El manantial, localizado con precisión en 1984, también abastece a la conocida marca de agua embotellada Chaudfontaine-Sources, que aprovecha las aguas minerales de la zona desde hace casi un siglo. El Château combina baños termales con alta gastronomía en un entorno rural de prestigio; no se admiten niños menores de 13 años.

Château des Thermes sits in a wooded valley along the Vesdre river in Chaudfontaine, Liège Province, drawing on the 'Astrid' spring — Belgium and the Benelux region's only genuinely hot natural spring. The water infiltrates through the Ardennes' near-impenetrable rocky, limestone soil, taking over 60 years to percolate down to roughly 1,600 meters, where it reaches about 55°C before rising back to the surface at around 37°C, gaining bicarbonate minerals along the way through natural filtration. The spring, pinpointed in 1984, also supplies the well-known Chaudfontaine-Sources bottled water brand, which has drawn on the area's mineral waters for roughly a century. The Château combines thermal bathing with fine dining in a prestigious countryside setting; children under 13 are not admitted.
