Hvammsvik Hot Springs

Hvammsvík Hot Springs opened in Hvalfjörður (Whale Fjord), about 45-56 km from Reykjavík. Eight natural pools of varying size sit along the tidal shoreline, built into the rock and fed by hot water from underground mixed with seawater, so temperatures shift with the tide; published figures range from around 35°C to 42°C across the different pools, alongside a sauna (70-90°C) and steam room (46-48°C).
