Melozi Hot Springs

Melozi Hot Springs sits deep in the Kuskokwim Mountains of interior Alaska, accessible only by floatplane from McGrath or nearby villages. The spring emerges at around 54°C in a remote river valley surrounded by boreal forest. A small number of wilderness cabins near the springs have historically allowed multi-day stays for those who make the effort to reach this genuinely remote corner of interior Alaska. The wildlife — moose, bears, caribou, and countless migratory birds — is as remarkable as the thermal water.
