Poring Hot Springs

Los Poring Hot Springs se encuentran en las tierras bajas boscosas del Parque Nacional de Kinabalu, a unos 40 kilómetros al sur de la cumbre de granito que da nombre al parque. El agua emerge de un sistema de fracturas geotérmicas y se canaliza hacia piscinas individuales y comunitarias al aire libre con temperaturas de 38 a 45 °C. El parque, declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en 2000, alberga más de 5.000 especies de plantas, incluyendo la Rafflesia, la flor más grande del mundo. Las pasarelas elevadas de dosel permiten a los visitantes observar las terrazas de los manantiales desde lo alto de las copas de los árboles.

Poring Hot Springs lie in the forested lowlands of Kinabalu National Park, about 40 kilometres south of the granite summit that gives the park its name. The springs emerge from a geothermal fracture system and are channelled into individual private and communal open-air pools. Water temperatures range from 38 to 45°C. The surrounding rainforest, protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000, shelters over 5,000 plant species including Rafflesia, the world's largest flower. Elevated canopy walkways allow visitors to look down over the hot spring terraces from above the tree canopy, while the sounds of the jungle — hornbills, cicadas, the slow drip of rainforest humidity — frame every soak.

Poring Hot Springsはマレーシア・Sabah, Borneoに位置する地熱温泉。源泉温度は42℃、標高550mの地に湧出する。泉水は中性に近い（pH約7.1）の泉質、炭酸水素塩泉・ナトリウム泉を豊富に含む、総溶解固形物320 mg/Lが特徴だ。リラクゼーション・筋肉の回復・皮膚など多様な温浴療法が行われる。施設では入浴・露天浸浴・森林キャノピーウォークなどが体験できる。
