QC Bagni Nuovi is located in Valdidentro, about 3 km from Bormio, in the Valtellina Alps. Thermal water use in the Bormio area dates to pre-Roman times and was noted by Pliny the Elder; the town's very name may derive from a Gallic or Germanic word for 'hot spring.' The current Art Nouveau building, set in a centuries-old park, opened in the early 20th century and now operates as an Alpine spa with outdoor pools facing the mountains.
