SaarowTherme opened on December 15, 1998 in Bad Saarow, a lakeside spa town about 70 km southeast of Berlin. The town holds the official designation 'Thermalsole- und Moorheilbad' (thermal brine and mud healing spa), built on a chlorine-calcium healing spring tapped at 175 meters depth in 1927 and on mineral-rich mud (Moor) used therapeutically since around 1900.
