Sarandoporo lies in the Vronomero Gorge near the village of Kuqës, about 10 km south of Leskovik in Kolonjë, close to the Albania-Greece border. Reaching the springs takes a roughly 30-minute walk along an unmarked, mostly dry riverbed from the parking area, past a first pool that can run cold before warmer stone-lined pools appear, with surface water around 27-30°C and water closer to 40-50°C near the cave-spring source itself, at about 430 meters elevation. The sulphur-rich water and its setting have made Sarandoporo known locally as a quieter, less-visited alternative to the more famous Benja springs near Përmet. In 2021, explorers documented a significant subterranean thermal lake within the connected cave system, adding scientific interest to what remains an undeveloped, infrastructure-free site.
