Termas de Moncao

Termas de Monção se encuentra en la Avenida das Caldas, en la localidad de Monção, cerca del río Miño y de la frontera con España. El agua brota hipertermal, entre 30ºC y 49,5ºC, y se clasifica como hipersalina, sulfurosa, sódica, litinada y fluorada, con un pH de 7,4. Tradicionalmente se indica para afecciones de la piel, trastornos musculoesqueléticos y enfermedades respiratorias crónicas. El primer balneario, Termas da Pedra, se construyó en 1801 gracias a la donación de António Silveira, un benefactor local agradecido por la mejora de su salud.

Termas de Monção sits on the Avenida das Caldas in the town of Monção, near the Minho River on the Spanish border. The water emerges hyperthermal, between 30ºC and 49.5ºC, and is classified as hypersaline, sulphurous, sodium-rich, lithium-bearing and fluoridated, with a pH of 7.4. It is traditionally indicated for skin conditions, musculoskeletal disorders and chronic respiratory ailments. The first bathhouse, Termas da Pedra, was built in 1801 after a local benefactor, António Silveira, donated funds in gratitude for improvements in his health from the waters.
