Puertecitos Hot Springs

En la remota costa del Golfo de California, unos 90 km al sur de San Felipe, agua calentada geotérmicamente brota entre pozas de roca talladas en la orilla en Puertecitos. Lo que distingue a estos manantiales es su mecánica mareal: cuando sube la marea, el agua del mar inunda y enfría las pozas, y al bajar, agua termal fresca vuelve a llenarlas -- de modo que la temperatura de baño cambia a lo largo del día según el nivel de la marea, siendo la marea media generalmente el mejor momento para sumergirse. Un letrero pintado a mano en el sitio describe el agua como 'relajante, medicinal, curativa', y los manantiales se encuentran junto a un pequeño campamento frente al mar, popular entre viajeros que exploran la remota costa oriental de Baja California.

On the remote Gulf of California coast about 55 miles south of San Felipe, geothermally heated water seeps up through rock pools carved into the shoreline at Puertecitos. What sets the springs apart is their tidal mechanics: as the tide rises, seawater floods and cools the pools, and as it recedes, fresh hot spring water refills them -- so bathing temperature shifts through the day depending on the tide level, with the mid-tide window generally considered the best time to soak. A hand-painted sign at the site describes the water as 'relaxing, medicinal, curative,' and the springs sit beside a small oceanfront campground popular with overlanders exploring Baja California's remote east coast.

サンフェリペから南へ約90km、カリフォルニア湾の人里離れた海岸にあるプエルテシートスでは、海岸の岩を削ってできたプールに地熱で温められた水が湧き出している。この温泉の特徴は潮の満ち引きとの関係にある。満潮時には海水がプールに流れ込んで水温を下げ、引潮になると新鮮な温泉水が再びプールを満たす。そのため入浴に適した温度は一日の中で潮位によって変化し、一般的には中潮の時間帯が最も良いとされる。現地の手書きの看板には「リラックス、薬効、治癒」と記されており、泉のそばにはバハカリフォルニアの人里離れた東海岸を旅するオーバーランダーに人気の、海に面した小さなキャンプ場がある。
