Termas Comanjilla

Comanjilla se ubica donde las fracturas geológicas entre la Sierra de Guanajuato y la Sierra de León traen a la superficie agua termal sulfurosa y vapor -- un estudio geológico de 1909 contabilizó seis manantiales activos, además de varios brotes menores y emanaciones de vapor. Hoy ese calor natural alimenta Termas Comanjilla, un balneario familiar construido alrededor de los manantiales, con albercas termales, tinas individuales de agua mineral, alberca de olas y toboganes, además de temazcal y servicios de spa. El agua es intensamente caliente donde brota por primera vez de la roca, y el sitio sigue siendo uno de los destinos geotérmicos más documentados del Bajío.

Comanjilla lies where geological fractures between the Sierra de Guanajuato and the Sierra de León bring sulphurous thermal water and vapor to the surface -- a 1909 geological survey of the area counted six active springs plus several smaller spouting sources and vapor emissions. Today that natural heat feeds Termas Comanjilla, a family balneario built around the springs with thermal pools, individual mineral-water tubs, a wave pool and slides, plus a temazcal steam bath and spa services. The water is intensely hot where it first emerges from the rock, and the site remains one of the Bajío region's longest-documented geothermal destinations.
