Alba Wellness Valley occupies 50 hectares of forested land in Phong Son commune, Phong Dien district, roughly 30 kilometres northwest of Hue city. Its water source, the Thanh Tan hot spring, was first documented in 1928 by French physician Albert Sallet and was officially recognised as a mineral water source in 1983, long before the present resort opened in 2019. The spring water is bicarbonated, sulphurous and mineral-rich, and is channelled through an eight-step onsen bathing journey inspired by Japanese tradition, alongside outdoor mineral pools, mud treatments and a natural mineral drinking-water bottling operation on site.
The Thanh Tan spring was first documented in 1928 by French physician Albert Sallet and officially recognised as a mineral water source in 1983, giving it nearly a century of recorded use before the current wellness resort was built.
