My Lam Mineral Spring lies in My Lam commune, Yen Son district, in the hills of Tuyen Quang province in Vietnam's northeast. The underground water source, more than 150 metres deep, was first documented in 1923 by French geologist C. Madrolle and reaches temperatures of nearly 67-70°C at depth, cooled to around 38-42°C for the resort's bathing pools. The sulphide-bearing mineral water — carrying hydrogen sulphide at roughly 5 milligrams per litre alongside calcium and silica — has been used therapeutically since a medical convalescence facility was formally established at the site in 1976. Today the area combines mineral and mud baths, sauna and massage services with Red Dao ethnic herbal soaking traditions, and sits within a much larger zone now also being developed for residential and resort use.
