Bains de Saillon draws on the thermal waters of the Salentse, which have been recognized for their therapeutic qualities since the Roman era and emerge onto the valley floor at around 20°C before being warmed for bathing. The springs rise beneath Saillon, one of Valais' best-preserved medieval walled villages, where the water flows down through the dramatic Gorges de la Salentse. The current thermal spa and hotel complex, built in its present form in 2016, sits at the foot of the old town and offers indoor and outdoor pools alongside a wellness area within view of Saillon's medieval towers and vineyards.
The thermal properties of the Salentse waters have reportedly been recognized since Roman times, and the springs rise beneath Saillon, one of the best-preserved medieval walled villages in Valais.
