Devil's Den

Devil's Den is a dry cave with a natural underground spring, formed when the roof of a limestone cavern partially collapsed to reveal the spring pool below. The name derives from the steam that forms in winter mornings when warm spring water meets cool air — early settlers thought the vapors looked like smoke from the devil's lair. Archaeological finds indicate human use of the spring going back at least 7,500 years. The spring maintains a constant 22°C and extraordinary clarity. Visitors can snorkel in the cavern pool; certified divers can explore the submerged cave passages. Not suitable for young children due to the ladder entry.
