Gadek Hot Spring rises at about 25 km north of Melaka City in Alor Gajah district, with water surfacing at roughly 56°C and carrying hydrogen sulfide at levels considered safe and traditionally valued for skin conditions and joint ailments. The site was reportedly used by British colonial soldiers before its formal development began in the 1980s; it opened to the public in 1987 under the Alor Gajah District Council and passed to Melaka Corporation management in 1992. A major RM18.45 million upgrade, begun in August 2021 and completed in October 2024, transformed the site into the Gadek Hotspring Wellness & Spa Resort, which relaunched on 22 January 2025 with public pools, 20 hotel rooms, eight private chalets with individual hot spring pools, and family spa facilities.
