Terme di Premia is a thermal spa in the Frazione Cadarese area of Premia, in the Alta Val d'Ossola region of Piedmont. Its calcium-sulphate ('solfato-calcica') water emerges from the ground at approximately 44°C and is used in indoor and outdoor pools tempered to 32-36°C. The first documented mentions of the area's therapeutic waters date to the 16th century, when the mineral water was also used locally for retting flax and washing laundry. The waters are indicated for respiratory, vascular, dermatological, and gynecological treatments.

Heritage

The first documented mentions of these mountain waters date to the 16th century. Beyond their therapeutic reputation, the mineral water was historically put to practical local use — including retting flax and washing laundry — before the modern spa facility was developed.
