Vashisht Hot Springs

Los manantiales termales de Vashisht se encuentran en el pueblo de Vashisht, a unos 3 km de la localidad de Manali, en el distrito de Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, a una altitud de unos 2.050 metros. El agua geotérmica es rica en azufre, lo que le confiere sus propiedades minerales características, y está estrechamente vinculada al templo de Vashisht, dedicado al sabio Vashisht, venerado en el Ramayana como el gurú del Señor Rama, con tradiciones que sitúan la historia espiritual del lugar hace unos 4.000 años. El templo es conocido por su arquitectura de madera con tallas intrincadas, típica de la construcción de templos del Himalaya. Hoy los manantiales atraen tanto a peregrinos que realizan baños rituales como a turistas que buscan un baño relajante, y se encuentran a poca distancia de otras atracciones de Manali como el paso de Rohtang.

Vashisht Hot Springs are located in Vashisht village, about 3 km from Manali town in Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh, at an elevation of around 2,050 metres. The geothermal water is sulphur-rich, giving the baths their characteristic mineral properties, and is closely tied to the adjacent Vashisht Temple, dedicated to the sage Vashisht, revered in the Ramayana as Lord Rama's guru, with some traditions tracing the site's spiritual history back some 4,000 years. The temple is known for its intricately carved wood architecture typical of Himalayan temple building. Today the springs draw both pilgrims performing ritual bathing and tourists seeking a relaxing soak, and sit within easy reach of other Manali attractions such as Rohtang Pass.
