El Baño Termal Gellért es el más arquitectónicamente distinguido de los grandes complejos balnearios de Budapest: un monumental edificio Art Nouveau cuyo interior presenta una imponente piscina principal cubierta con techo de vidrio arqueado, exquisita azulejería y columnas romanas. Construido entre 1912 y 1918 al pie de la colina Gellért, el agua proviene del mismo sistema de manantiales que ha servido a los bañistas en este lugar desde la ocupación turca en el siglo XVI.
The Gellért Thermal Bath and Hotel is the most architecturally distinguished of Budapest's great spa complexes — a monumental Art Nouveau building whose interior features a soaring indoor main pool with arched glass roof, ornate tilework, and Roman columns. Built between 1912 and 1918 at the foot of Gellért Hill on the Buda side of the Danube, the facility draws water from the same spring system that has served bathers in this location since Turkish occupation in the 16th century. The outdoor pools include a wave pool, terraced sun decks, and views across the Danube towards the Pest skyline. The Gellért has long attracted artists, intellectuals, and heads of state, and its grand interiors are considered among the finest examples of Hungarian Secession architecture.

Los manantiales de Gellért fueron utilizados durante el Reino de Hungría medieval y, posteriormente, por la administración otomana que ocupó Buda entre 1541 y 1686. El edificio actual fue el resultado de un gran esfuerzo cívico para crear un complejo termal a la altura de las ambiciones de Budapest como gran ciudad europea a comienzos del siglo XX.

The Gellért springs were used by the medieval Hungarian Kingdom and subsequently by the Ottoman Turkish administration that occupied Buda from 1541 to 1686. The current building was the result of a major civic effort to create a spa complex worthy of Budapest's ambitions as a great European city at the turn of the 20th century.
