Kangal Balıklı Kaplıca, in the Kangal district of Sivas province in Central Anatolia, is world-renowned as the original home of 'doctor fish' therapy. The spring maintains a steady temperature of 36-37°C, with total mineralization around 591 mg/L, a pH of about 7.4, and high concentrations of calcium, magnesium, selenium and bicarbonate ions, making it well suited to bathing. The pools are home to Garra rufa fish, small toothless carp that feed on dead skin cells, and the site has become a specialized destination for people seeking relief from psoriasis, eczema and other dermatological conditions, drawing international visitors for its distinctive combination of warm mineral water and fish-assisted skin therapy.
